Under Construction

Andy surveyed the construction zone and the workers moving about.

Attached to a safety fence was a sign reading “Construction Area, please keep out”

He thought that souls under construction were much like this building -

we all are in need of constant maintenance, upgrading and improving.

The most stable buildings are those with foundations that are reinforced,

which make them stronger to withstand any earthquake or other destructive force.

A solid spiritual foundation that is built on the teachings of Jesus Christ

will help us be firm and immovable when intangible disasters arise.

Personal progression was Andy’s overall goal and helped him remember,

his life was a work of advancement now and in the future.

This man was once one way and now he was better -

the difference in between was the influence of the Savior.

He was so grateful that the rooms in his spiritual house could be

enlarged and renovated-

that faith and repentance were building blocks that could be cultivated.

He recognized that with God as his architect and partner,

his eternal mansion would be better than ever.

God can make more of our lives than we can if we let him supervise.

He knows exactly what we need and will not improvise or compromise.

This construction project we call life has no finishing date or end -

it can be a work of perpetual progress with Jesus as our mentor and friend.

“Please believe me when I say that when your spiritual foundation is built solidly upon Jesus Christ, you have no need to fear. As you are true to your covenants made in the temple, you will be strengthened by His power. Then, when spiritual earthquakes occur, you will be able to stand strong because your spiritual foundation is solid and immovable.

(Russell M. Nelson, “The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation”, October 2021)
