What is it like on the other side?
Is it much like here, only more wonderful than where we presently abide?
Our graduation and passing from this life is greeted with hugs and many a kiss,
from loved ones and friends who arrived there before us.
Just as a ship sails to the horizon and passes from our sight,
it is welcomed as it arrives on a new shore in the world of love and light.
When one has left this mortal sphere,
our memories bring them back and suddenly they seem so near.
Perhaps a loved one left too soon, in our estimation of time,
Being taken from this Earth much sooner than their prime.
Those left behind join to celebrate a passing life full of good living and cherished days.
Every life here can touch others in so many good ways;
We will miss them terribly and long to embrace them again,
But with the knowledge of salvation we can look past earthly pain.
This truth brings us peace and comfort when our world is torn apart
Our Heavenly Father is watching over us with loving open arms.
Our heartache slowly lessens as we hold tight to what we know,
We'll see our loved ones once again and true happiness we'll know.
