There is something often so difficult to describe,
a feeling in the heart and soul that one cannot deny.
It is a rhythm that strikes the inward chords and chimes,
that stirs the soul with a resonance so sublime.
The vibrations seem to fill time and space;
this feeling can be experienced by the whole human race.
When two or more harmonize on the same frequency,
the melody can enthrall like the music of a great symphony.
When we hear and feel the music down to our core,
we can dance and sing and shout with a joy that is sure.
When the music and dance embrace each other in perfect symmetry,
it is much like a man and woman who love each other completely.
It is the same with spirit and body which together are the soul,
they come together as one to function and make the two whole.
The words of Christ and the Holy Ghost combine to unite the soul and mind,
they create a sense of being that promotes good things of every kind.
To obey or do something without purpose or reason would be a worthless cause,
we would only go through the motions, only giving heed to ineffectual laws.
When one can rejoice as the angels, singing praises to God on high,
With a heart filled with wonder and gratitude for the blessings He provides.
Then truly the music of the gospel is one we can dance to day and night.
It will lift our spirits and help them take flight.
When the liberating and freeing power of the atonement is something we comprehend,
We can rejoice along with other sinners whose lives are on the mend.
Truly we have witnesses of this miraculous process as it unfolds,
from Alma the Younger, King Lamoni, Paul and other prophets so bold.
To dance without hearing the music would not be fulfilling for long,
just going through the motions would not be satisfying and strong.
