Her life had been turned upside down, everything was now on hold;
the tragic and sudden death of a loved-one made her feel so empty and cold.
She knew she must carry on, even though there seemed to be no purpose, no spiritual fire.
Even now at this low point she realized she must look to a higher power.
As she walked up the rocky trail, she gazed upward at the marvelous view -
the snow-capped mountains with light shades of green and blue.
The clouds in the azure sky billowed and drifted lazily by,
with not a care in the world, moving toward the horizon, caressing every admiring eye.
Her soul and mood started to lift as she took-in the majestic scene,
the warm glow of the sun on her face, the cool touch of the air so refreshing and clean.
This vista was not new to her but today had special meaning,
her gratitude for the wonders of God prompted her soul searching and fervent praying.
She felt the touch of God at that glorious moment,
a special warmth that confirmed that He knew her deep pain and torment.
She knew well that feeling - to her it was no stranger,
it had embraced her soul often while on her knees in her daily devotional and prayer.
She had come to know God over the years leading up to this point in time,
she was well acquainted with His tender care and love sublime.
She walked down the mountain that day with a new perspective, a new resolve,
she was reminded once again that God could heal her heart and make her well and whole.
We all experience grief and heartache; it comes with this worldly turf -
but we are not alone in our trials when we turn to the Lord in our grief.
God is in the details of our lives, he knows our sorrows and joys -
He is there when we knock, when we ask – He is always there, ever on stand-by.
The Comforter will bring us strength to overcome anything that comes our way,
The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost can carry us beyond the veil of tears every trying day.
When we have passed through each challenge and are on the other side,
we can look back and see the hand of God directing and serving as our guide.
Challenges and trials are not meant to stop us in our tracks,
they can serve as a way to learn, to understand our real purpose, and see once again that
God has our back.
When we look up to praise our heavenly guardians and remember our eternal goal,
we can say once again, in humility and in peace: “It is well, it is well, with my soul.”
