The man reached the top of the summit and held his arms out wide.
He took in the scene that was too beautiful to fully describe.
His countenance was radiant and his heart overflowing.
Tears welled up in his eyes, brought on by the transcendent feeling.
He knelt and gave thanks for this glorious moment,
acknowledging the many blessings he had received because of
Christ and His atonement.
As a disciple of Christ, he tried to follow Jesus and His teachings-
his belief and faith in the Savior always abounding in love and thanksgiving.
He made a conscious effort to draw near to Him and worship each day-
through study, music, poetry and his sincere attempts to pray.
This was another good day, another great day to be alive on earth.
He rejoiced once more for these special experiences of spiritual rebirth.
To bask in the love of God is a feeling beyond compare.
It is like sunshine in the soul that enlivens every particle there.
The glory of God can bring joy and wonder in fuller measure
when gratitude, thanksgiving, rejoicing and praise are attitudes that we treasure.

D&C 78: 19 And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more.
Colossians 2: 6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
2 Nephi 1: 15 But behold, the Lord hath redeemed my soul from hell; I have beheld his glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of his love.
Ulisses Soares, “In Awe of Christ and His Gospel”, April 2022 General Conference:
“The wonder I refer to is the sensation of emotion, awe, or amazement common to all who wholeheartedly center their lives on the Savior and His teachings and humbly recognize His presence in their lives. Such a feeling of wonder, inspired by the influence of the Holy Ghost, stimulates the enthusiasm to joyfully live the doctrine of Christ …. when we truly are in awe of Jesus Christ and His gospel, we are happier, we have more
enthusiasm for God’s work, and we recognize the Lord’s hand in all things. Additionally, our study of God’s words is more meaningful; our prayers, more intentional; our worship, more reverent; our service in God’s kingdom, more diligent. All these actions contribute to the Holy Spirit’s influence being more frequent in our lives.”
